SODERCAN’s Business Development Area has launched the EIBTS Program for the creation and upscaling of innovative technology companies, consisting of a training program and awards.
The aim of this competitive program is to boost technological research and innovation, encouraging technology transfer between the university and private sector research centres, creating a favourable environment for the creation of new and innovative companies with growth potential within the scope of RIS 3: Blue economy and offshore industry, health and wellbeing, culture and sustainable tourism, the bioeconomy, the food and agricultural sectors, and Industry 4.0.
PHASES
Phase I. Group training workshops in basic aspects of creating a start-up and key competences in entrepreneurship for applicants who meet the established requirements.
Phase II. Individual mentoring to provide orientation and specialised assistance in preparing, completing or perfecting the business plan of the project.
Phase III. Competition: Awarding of prizes for the best projects, providing finance and visibility to the most promising initiatives.
BENEFICIARIES
- a) Entrepreneurs with an innovative business idea or project who assume the commitment to create a company and execute their project in Cantabria.
- b) Companies and other recently created entities with an innovative business idea or project and with at least 10 employees in Cantabria to execute the project.
- In the case of legal persons (companies, foundations or associations), these must have been constituted and have initiated activities within the scope of the program prior to January 1, 2020.
- In the case of individual entrepreneurs (self-employed or mutualists), they must have initiated their activities within the scope of the program prior to January 1, 2020.
AWARDS
A maximum of 10 awards will be granted: 3 top prizes and 7 runner-up awards for the best evaluated initiatives. The awards include the following financial endowments:
- First Prize: 30,000€
- Second Prize: 25,.000€
- Third Prize: 20,000€
- 7 runner-up awards: 10,000€
The winning projects will also receive a diploma certifying the award, in addition to accompaniment in their presentation to networks of private investors and public financing entities. The aim is to raise the visibility of the project through dissemination actions, including the public award ceremony.
Applications to participate in this program must be made online through the SODERCAN Support Management System. Applications will be accepted for a period of 2 months from the day after publication of the convocation in the Official Bulletin of Cantabria.
