LGTBI Equality Policy
The Management of SODERCAN, as part of its firm commitment to human rights, diversity, and inclusion, declares its firm commitment to equal treatment and non-discrimination of LGTBI persons (lesbian, gay, trans, bisexual, and intersex), as a fundamental principle of its management strategy and corporate social responsibility.
In line with the principles set forth in Law 4/2023, of 28 February, for the real and effective equality of trans persons and for the guarantee of the rights of LGTBI persons, and in accordance with Royal Decree 1026/2023, regulating the development and implementation of measures for LGTBI equality and non-discrimination in the workplace, SODERCAN has developed and implemented a set of concrete, effective, and measurable actions to ensure equal opportunity and respect for diversity in the workplace.
This commitment is based on the following core principles:
- Absolute rejection of any form of discrimination, direct or indirect, based on sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or sexual characteristics.
- Mainstreaming of the LGTBI perspective into internal management policies: recruitment, training, promotion, communication, occupational health, working conditions, language use, and the workplace environment.
- Prevention of and action on LGTBI-phobia and other manifestations of intolerance or exclusion in the professional sphere.
- Promotion of an inclusive organisational culture in which all persons can develop both professionally and personally without concealing their identity.
- Active participation of workers’ legal representatives in the design and monitoring of these measures, ensuring a participatory approach consistent with the reality of the work environment.
SODERCAN management assumes as its responsibility in the drafting, approval, and implementation of measures to ensure the equality and non-discrimination of LGTBI persons, in accordance with Article 60 of Law 4/2023 and Royal Decree 1026/2023, and shall ensure the allocation of the necessary resources for their compliance, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
