The Cantabrian company SAWATCO IBÉRICA, S.L., dedicated to energy efficiency and economic sustainability, has taken another step forward in its expansion, moving into new offices at PCTCAN (Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Cantabria).
Founded in 2009, with headquarters at the Morero Industrial Park in Astillero, SAWATCO consists of a team of engineers, consultants and energy management experts. The company has recently leased two offices on the second floor of the Torre Xtela at PCTCAN, with a total area of 137.9 m².
With this expansion, SAWATCO has expanded its operating capacity, aiming to create five new positions in the company in addition to their current 20 employees. Of these, 45% are dedicated to R&D+i, with an average age of 35, evidence of the company’s dedication to innovation and cultivating young talent in the energy sector.
The Minister of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Commerce, Eduardo Arasti, noted that in moving to Torre Xtela, SAWATCO joins other innovative companies such as Deduce Data Solutions and the multinational HIKVISION, thus “consolidating PCTCAN as a technology and development hub in Cantabria”.
For Arasti, the expansion of SAWATCO to its new location in Torre Xtela is “a clear example of how we are implementing a new productive model with greater added value and a more promising future”.
In this line, the Minister noted that “initiatives like SAWATCO are fundamental to achieving these objective, generating highly-skilled employment and reinforcing the industrial base of the region, contributing to the development of new technologies driving the energy transition”.
“Thanks to the measures we have taken to attract new business initiatives, tax reforms, incentives for innovation and actions to provide companies with the necessary infrastructure, space, services and communications, Cantabria has become an attractive destination for business investment”, highlighted the Minister.
